This time period is characterized by the development of boring and milling machines, vertical lathes and roll grinding machines, through the improvement of their technical performances and fitting multiple accessories that correspond with market demand.
Boring and milling machines (BMT, BMK and BP) have been redesigned in order to increase chipping parameters and have been fitted with different accessories like: automatic tool changers, CNC faceplates, pallet operation systems, automatic parts and tools measurement systems, indexing and continuous milling heads controlled by CNC, automatic attachment changers.
These machines have been delivered to customers in USA, Eastern Europe, Australia, India, China and Russia.
In 2008 – 2009 a special group of 5 machines is delivered to the VSMPO company in Russia for the machining of the Boeing and Airbus landing gear made out of titanium alloy.
Turning and milling lathes (VL and VLO) have been improved by widening work possibilities through development of the movable table variant, the introduction of hydrostatic bearing for the table and linear axes and fitting with multiple accessories.
Through these solutions we extended the possibilities for machining complex configuration parts, large dimensions and heavy weights.
These machines have been delivered in Europe, USA and India.
In 2009 a landmark deal has been concluded for the delivery to the Astrium Division of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) of a unique Vertical Machining Center capable to machine parts for the Ariane 5 space launcher.
Roll grinding machines (REX and RGC) have been considerably improved due to great market demands. In this time period old machines have been practically redesigned, and so the new series covers a range of diameters between 100 and 2000 mm, lengths from 2000 to 12000 mm and weights up to 120 tons. These Roll Grinding Machines are delivered to the Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Posco, Erdemir, Borcelik – Arcelor Mittal, Jindal Steel Works, Meta Strips, Ispat, etc.
The automation of these machines has been achieved by introducing:
- automatic roll measurement systems;
- roll structure control systems with Eddy current and ultrasounds;
- systems that allow grinding rolls that are fitted with chocks;
Machines from these series have been sold to India, Turkey, China, Mexico and Dubai.
The redesign has been achieved by using technical solutions that increase the reliability of the machines such as:
- reducers that ensure high moments and revolutions for main driving;
- reduced backlash reducers for feed motions;
- state-of-the-art electric, electronic and CNC equipment, of high performance: Siemens, Fanuc, Heindenhain
- high reliability hydraulic equipment: Rexroth, Hawe, Willy-Vogel.
